Make Your Web Site SELL!
Now that web site prices are coming down, with many services offering
free web space, it makes sense for almost any small business to have
a web site.
Unfortunately, many people are finding that their web site doesn't
do much for sales. Here are a few important things to remember to
make your web site effective:
1. Your web site should clearly communicate its purpose to readers
in the very first frame. Tell people what you do or sell, what you
page is about, and what benefit they'll get from reading it. Put that
information right at the top of the first page.
2. Make sure you web site offers lots of FREE information. Remember
that word "free." It's almost impossible to sell anything on the Net
unless readers can get free and helpful information from you. By giving
away some information, readers are much more likely to want to BUY
more from you.
3. Keep you site simple. Lots of whiz-bang graphics can look cool,
but make your site s-l-o-w to load.
MLM Meets the Internet
In the past, being in a Multi-Level Marketing company meant mailing
out letters, calling friends, holding meetings, even knocking on doors.
A lot of people felt uncomfortable with that. Some even felt like
they were being pests and spoiling longtime relationships with friends,
family, and associates.
The Internet is changing that. The on-line world is designed for
the solo-operator or independent distributor. Email, web sites, and
newsgroups gives individuals the power of a major mass media. This
is a terrific development for the small business person.
MLM companies are finding that the advantage is perfect for their
independent distributors. By combining the power of the Internet with
a strong product line, company training, and (in many cases) a known
trade name; independent distributors have the power of a much, much
larger business.
As the Internet develops and is used by more and more people, watch
for old businesses that suddenly find they have a huge advantage on
the Internet. Many of these businesses will be "reborn."
Advertise Your Biz on Low-Cost Radio
There's an old rule that when you have a LOT of something, the price
goes down.
That's the case with radio. You may be a handful of TV stations in
your town, and a major newspaper or two, but you've likely got one,
two, even three dozen radio stations to choose from.
Whereas it can cost hundreds or thousands to get a single ad on TV
or major newspapers, radio commercials usually go for under $100 and
often much lower.
Radio combines less expensive ad rates with large, well-targeted
audiences to give entrepreneurs an excellent advertising value.
Almost everyone listens to radio. Most people claim to listen at
least 2 hours each day. Young people listen to pop stations, baby
boomers love softer stations and stations that play oldies. People
over 55 (and increasingly--people of all ages) listen to talk and
news stations.
Make sure your radio commercial offers a good deal. Keep to a few
basic ideas. Repeat contact info.
